I know what you mean man, I had a weird feeling about him even before the mini hold out. Last year's Playoffs didn't help at all though, may have tainted my perception a bit ;)

Call me crazy but I think Cowen is one of those guys who may be a problem. He is probably receptive to coaching which is good but I think he is a guy who might be a little too full of himself. If he plays up to the level he is signed for he is going to look for a huge contract extension when his deal is up. at that time Ottawa will probably move him.

There is something about Cowen that I just don't like. Not his ability just his..... I don't know.

Yeah, in the end it's a fair deal. More than likely, Cowen's camp probably felt they were getting lowballed. It must be tough negotiating a contract at a time when it's public knowledge that your boss is pinching pennies. No matter how much they try to tell you that they aren't pulling the wool over your eyes, you're still going to suspect that they'd give you more if their wasn't an internal cap.

Great news. While I don't think Cowen sitting out would have been the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination, it's good to have some insurance and not have to worry about his development getting any more stalled.

Agents are ruining this show. Some are doing a great job in the best interest of their client but for the most part, they are greedy bastards..in it for the money only.

About time. Cowen was getting bad advice from someone unless he thinks he's God's gift to the Sens.

According to TSN, the Ottawa Senators have agreed to a 4 year, $12.4 million deal with defenseman Jared Cowen.
