  • Is Kane on his way out?

Winnipeg Jets' forward Evander Kane wasn't on the ice for the team's practice on Thursday — two days after being benched in Vancouver.

Kane was kept out of the 3-2 overtime loss to the Canucks by head coach Paul Maurice because he wore a track suit to the arena, a violation of the club’s dress code, according to Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press.

The Jets should just send him off already. It's clear there's attitude problems and Kane needs a wake-up call. Wearing a track suit to the arena is pretty disrespectful as far as dress code violates go, but apparently he also ignored calls until an hour before the game when he answered and said he wasn't playing. He always seems to want the attention to be all about him, and let's face it, his play doesn't really help him achieve that.

He's now elected to have shoulder surgery. No trade value to a contender anymore, but I suppose he may still have value to a non-playoff team looking to make noise next season. I'd want no part of him on the Sens.

Agreed. That and you'd have to move Kane to a small market team like Carolina where he fly under the radar.

I was going to say, that part sounded eerily like the Senators.

To be fair, weren't people saying the same about Turris?

Well, there was a lot of questions around Turris while he was holding back for contract dispute...but in general, he wasn't behaving like an ass. And to my knowledge, he wasn't a diva when he arrived with his new team.

            Kane on the other hand....

              Well, he's a Sabre now.
