  • Jackets honour Hartnell for 1000th game

    http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/class ... s-in-town/

Hartnell hit the 1,000-game milestone on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings. In that stretch of time the left winger has tallied 263 goals and 571 points along with 1,521 penalty minutes and a plus-59 rating.

He’s also been one of the more entertaining personalities in the league, with a big smile, a big head of hair (sometimes) and a tendency to throw big hits on the ice.

The sixth overall pick from 2000 started his career with the Nashville Predators and played five seasons there before he was traded to Philadelphia along with Kimmo Timonen.

Hartnell played seven seasons and 517 regular season games with Philadelphia before he was traded to Columbus last summer.

He’s also registered 19 goals, 47 points and 146 penalty minutes in 91 career playoff games. His best playoff performance came in Philadelphia’s run to the Stanley Cup final in 2010, when he registered eight goals and 17 points in 23 games.

At age 32, Hartnell appears to have lots more hockey ahead of him.
