Good return to NJ. Jagr...maybe he's finally feeling his age and Florida is JUST competitive enough so as to not be a glaring admission he doesn't want to keep going much longer...

My theory:

The Panthers aggressively shopped Bergenheim, Fleishman, Kopecky, and Upshall (and so far have moved Bergenheim). Their obvious goal is to get picks/prospects from contenders for their pending UFAs. Seems straightforward enough. The (very few) fans however are kinda pissed cos this team was really on the verge of possibly sneaking into the playoffs or at least staying a little bit competitive. So the Panthers had to go get a marquee rental to attempt to sell tickets (although really Ekblad, Barkov, Bjugstad, and Huberdeau plus Luongo and Campbell are totally worth the price of admission IMO) while jettisoning their old guys to really do their franchise reset proper.

Or Jagr is just going to Florida to retire like a normal old guy.
