Boston Bruins forward Brett Connolly will be out six weeks with a displaced fracture in his right index finger, general manager Peter Chiarelli announced.
Connolly was injured in practice Wednesday when he was struck in the hand by a shot from defenseman Dennis Seidenberg.
The Bruins acquired Connolly from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday in a trade for a second-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and a second-round pick in 2016. He had 12 goals in 50 games this season for the Lightning.
