Conacher or Pageau?

Re: Conacher or Pageau?
You know, that's a really good question. I literally have them both dead-even. I'd say Conacher's slightly more of an offensive talent while Pageau is a bit more complete. For that reason, Conacher seems better suited for the top-six if they're both fighting for a spot. Conacher has about 40 games more worth of experience too.

Re: Conacher or Pageau?
See, now I think Pageau is that guy who has the natural ability to play with who ever he is lined up with. I don't think Conacher is as flexible with different roles. Pageau on the other hand is always a threat no matter what line he is on. Because Pageau is local too I want him to succeed more. I never like the Conacher trade and thought there was something better we could have gotten for Bishop. I think Conacher starts the season on the second line but doesn't last. He tries to play an aggressive game but he is not suited for that.
If Pageau continues to be an exciting player he might become my favorite Sens player.

Re: Conacher or Pageau?
Everything you say though makes it seem like Pageau is a better fit for the third line. Not because he's worse; because he's more versatile. Agreed though, 82 games of last season's Pageau, and he's one of my favorite Sens for sure.

I see Conacher like a Ryan Shannon and see Pageau like a Danny Briere.
Edit: Conacher wasn't drafted. He was signed by Tampa.

I loved Pageau's game in the playoffs, even aside from the hat trick game. He was great in the Pittsburgh series and was really buzzing. He's awesome defensively, too. There's not much I don't like about him..especially since he was a fourth round pick just two years ago.

Re: Conacher or Pageau?
Haha, I dunno, 5'8 is a bit short even for real life. For right now at least, and who knows how they might both develop, but if I had to pick on to have on my team, I'd take Pageau; he's already becoming one of our better penalty-killers and his hockey IQ is simply incredible. But since the question is specifically which one I'd have on the top line, that would have to be Conacher. The way he zips around forcing turnovers and all-round havoc for opposing teams makes him a great compliment to top-line forwards.
