Montreal got me into hockey

As a kid Montreal was my team. Grant Fuhr was my favorite player but Montreal was my team. McPhee, Richer, Roy, Naslund, Skrudland, Courtnall, Robinson, Gainey, Chelios, Ludwig, Hayward, Smith, Keane, Carbonneau was where it started.

Every Saturday night we would watch HNIC and see Les Habitants. Those were the days.

When Ottawa got the team it was only natural that they became my 1a team. Over the years I have started to loathe the Habs mostly because Quebec media has nothing better to bitch about.

I listen to TSN 690 a lot and they complain about everything.

I hate the French media but I still cheer for the team. I was pretty close to ditching them when they signed Briere though. Just feels like Bergevin wants to please the French media which I couldn't care less about.

I can't picture you cheering for any other team.

It hasn't been easy being a Leafs fan but I would never ditch them for Ottawa or Montreal. I don't know how people can switch allegiances like it's nothing, especially with a rival team.

If my friend actually does end up in the NHL and plays for Ottawa, who he's had discussions with to tryout for their farm team, I might have to cheer for Ottawa just because of him.

I doubt I'd actually ditch Montreal, but if they try to please the French media more than they care about winning, they can fuck right off.
