I liked the idea, and I liked the Governor's character (not that I sided with him, I just liked how resolute and ruthless he is) but there were definitely parts of the whole Woodbury thing that were too played out and unrealistic. Andrea really pissed me off, and Rick started getting annoying too. Daryl is great.

I liked his character too just I think the whole Woodbury story kind of threw the show of a little. I liked it more when they were on the run looking for anything . Setting up in the prison was cool but I didn't like how all the inmates got killed. Though, the way the redneck got shot was sick.
Since the Governor is still not dead he will show up later and mess the story up again. I loved Merl and thought his character was great.
I don't know. The show is really good as is. I never read the comic so it is all new to me. Having another series would be cool too just it has to have a really good cast.
Basically I hate shows that seem too soap operary(?). That's what I found with Sons of Anarchy, and The Wire. I lost interest in them fast because the side stories were kind of lame to me.
If they can make I seem real then I am all for it.
Yeah, I think it's got the potential to be even better. The show writers have strayed away from the comic a bit, but not a lot and what they have done differently was met with a lot of criticism from hardcore fans of the comic. With the spinoff, they'll be free to take it wherever they want and the writer seems really enthusiastic about it. I agree that the cast will make or break it.
